Alpine golf: Golfers’ open day
Here in Andermatt we recently invited some special guests to test out our new golf course. When complete, the course is set to provide the setting for one of the most
impressive rounds of golf in the Alps. These lucky few keen golfers got the chance to try out some alpine golf in the bright Swiss sunshine as they played the first three holes of what will be an 18 hole course, due to open to the public in spring 2014.
During the open day guests also got the chance to try out the driving range and take part in a beginners’ course if they were new to the game. There was also the
opportunity to take a tour of the full golf course, to get an idea of what the finished course will look like.
Golfers also had time to relax and refuel in the sunshine and sample some of the locally produced wine and cheese as well as meat from the Urseren valley, cooked on a speciality alpine barbecue provided by Restaurant Bären
When complete, in addition to the 18 hole golf course there will also be a 6 hole practice facility that have both been carefully designed to preserve the natural environment and include the local community.
If you would like to find out more about the new golf course here then look out for a brand new video coming soon.
