Congratulations to Lara Gut, Silver Medallist in the Super-G

Congratulations to our Andermatt Swiss Alps Ambassador, Lara Gut, who took silver yesterday in the world championship Super-G event, held at Schladming, Austria.

Lara, who is still only 21, crossed the finishing line just 0.38 seconds behind the overall winner, Tina Maze of Slovenia, who is 8 years her senior.  In third place came the American skier, Julie Mancuso.

The Super-G is the event that made Lara’s name. When she was just 17, she became the youngest-ever to win gold at the World Cup in this demanding discipline.

Recently, a run at Andermatt was named in Lara’s honour. We at Andermatt Swiss Alps are thrilled to have the support of this talented young Swiss skier for the work that we’re doing to make Andermatt one of the country’s top ski destinations.
