Andermatt Swiss Alps

Congratulations to the winner of our photo competition

Andermatt Swiss Alps‘ photo contest to find the best of your pictures from Andermatt-Sedrun has ended. We had plenty of outstanding entries, the public have cast their votes…and the results are in.

The winner of a 2013/14 season’s ski pass to Andermatt-Sedrun is… Isabelle Müller!

Isabelle’s photo received more than 500 votes, putting her head and shoulders above other entries.

Congratulations to Isabelle on her win, and on this brilliant photo – a shot of her flying through the air on a snowboard in the Tegia Grondo skipark, Sedrun.

We caught up with Isabelle – a student in Social Work – to get her reaction to the good news…

How do you feel about winning ?

I’m thrilled! I’m a regular visitor to the slopes of Andermatt-Sedrun, so I will get plenty of use out of my season pass.

Was it difficult to pick the right photo to enter?

Not at all – in fact, it was very easy, as pretty much every picture taken within Andermatt–Sedrun is great, just because the setting is so beautiful.  You quickly get a sense of that from the great photos that others entered into the competition.

What makes the Andermatt – Sedrun ski area special to you?

Ever since childhood, I’ve spent my holidays in Sedrun. This is where I learned to ski and snowboard, and I love the warm and friendly welcome. The little villages that surround it are really romantic and charming.

Any ‘must-do’ recommendations for visitors or even residents here?

It’s not quite such an insider tip any more, but a definite highlight for me during summer are the courses in gold-panning and how to find mountain crystals. They’re brilliantly organised by Priska and Sandro from Aurira GmbH.

And what are you wishing for now you’ve won the competition?

Tonnes of first snow and great powder –  as early as possible !

We can’t wait to see what Isabelle gets up to when she enjoys the use of her season’s pass next winter.

Thanks to all our other entrants – we’re only sorry you couldn’t all win. We loved seeing your pictures and we’re very grateful to you for sharing your own take on life in the mountains.

Don’t forget that you can still share your photos with us on Twitter – tweet us with your best shots! Be the first to hear about our next competitions, promotions, and other chances to get involved by signing up to our Andermatt Swiss Alps newsletter.
