Andermatt: New Alpine Golf Course Opening Spring 2016
Open to the public from spring 2016, Andermatt will host an international tournament-standard 18-hole golf course.
Ahead of the opening, our destination film focuses on the new golf facilities at Andermatt, including commentary from keen golfer Bernhard Russi, golf course architect Kurt Rossknecht and Sedrun golf course manager Seppi Jörg.
The course – designed by internationally renowned architect Kurt Rossknecht – will blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Designed to mirror the style of traditional Scottish links, but with its own snow-capped mountain setting, Andermatt will prove an unparalleled alpine golf experience. The season here will run from mid-May to the end of October (weather-dependent).
We are also thrilled to announce that Swiss pro golfer, André Bossert – the first ever Swiss winner on the European Tour – will be our Andermatt Swiss Alps golf ambassador. André will make regular appearances at the course throughout the year, and his expertise and experience will be brought to bear on the facilities and activities that we’ll be offering, both to members and visitors.
For residents and guests who will make regular, lengthier stays in Andermatt, there are a number of golf courses in the surrounding area which can provide further tests of skill. Within a short drive lie courses of incredible variety: the legendary greens of Lucerne, and the fairways of Ticino, with their surrounding palms and almost Mediterranean feel. Not forgetting, the majestic course at Realp Golf Club and perhaps the closest course Sedrun.
From golfing surrounded by snow-capped mountains, to teeing off amidst Mediterranean greenery – for the keen golfer, there’s no better place to call home than Andermatt.
