What Awaits you this Winter in Andermatt
At Andermatt Swiss Alps, we have ticked off a number of significant milestones this year. From the topping out ceremonies for the first apartment houses, Steinadler and Hirsch to the first event held in The Chedi Andermatt, which we wrote about last week. Now, we’re turning our attention to what is going to be one of the most exciting winter seasons in our history, thankfully though, we don’t have long to wait.
A little something to whet your appetite…
Blessed with snow-sure slopes, a great mix of runs and a budding aprés ski scene, winter in Andermatt is a must for those seeking a Swiss alpine town with a difference, and there’s more to enjoy in Andermatt this year than ever before. The town’s annual Ice Park has been enhanced and will be open from November 30th. It includes the traditional ice rink, in addition to a sports bar stage, lounge and sun terrace. This is the perfect place to enjoy DJs, ice hockey tournaments and live screening of the Winter Olympic Games.
Something for all the family this year…
For those with a passion for live music, Andermatt will not disappoint. It will also be launching Unplugged on Tour, where a series of live bands will play concerts across venues in the ski area as well as in the village. Attending these events will be free, and provide the perfect way to relax and unwind with friends after a day on the slopes. Snowshoeing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing and ice climbing will also be available this season.
