Networking in the Alps
Last Wednesday an unusual site was to be seen on the Gurschenalp: a group of ten stands at which regional companies in the tourism branch presented their attractions related to summer in Andermatt. This was the premiere of the so-called “tourism market”, an initiative of Flurin Riedi, Director ad interim of Andermatt Urseren Valley Tourism. The goal of the event was to present the broad range of summer offerings to the interested visitors and thus to further enhance Andermatt as a tourist destination. Visitors included hotel and restaurant professionals as well as representatives of neighbouring communities such as Gurtnellen and Wassen.
Roman Barmettler, co-organiser and staff member of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, explains how the event worked: “Flurin Riedi led the visitors on a tour of the individual stands. Each stand had five minutes to present its offering in the most attractive way.”
We also had a stand there. Nicole Zenklusen answered all the questions about the Andermatt golf course. “It was a good opportunity not only to present our offer, but also to strengthen the network”, says Nicole Zenklusen. And that mustn’t be underestimated. Following the presentation tour, which lasted about an hour, all the presenters and the visitors came together at an informal reception. The ensuing discussion was lively, and who knows, perhaps a deal or two was sealed over a glass of wine.
