The pink tent in Andermatt

“Only four months have passed since the idea was born and the first talks were held about launching a summer event for Andermatt. We knew from the start that we’ve set a very challenging goal”, tells André Meier from the organizing event agency “Bullskate”. Thanks to the good collaboration with the Andermatt Holiday Region and the local businesses, the organizers managed to achieve the nearly impossible within a short time – and the schlager star line-up is impressive indeed. “Beatrice Egli as our headliner on Friday evening is of course perfect! But we are also very pleased that we were able to get Guildo Horn and Leonard and all the other nationally and internationally well-known schlager stars. And a special highlight is Marco Rima on Sunday with his new stage show.”

Not only are the stars already in the starting blocks – the giant tent is already in place. “The dimensions are huge; it would even be big enough to hold Circus Knie inside! Within the tent there’s space for 4,200 people, and we have an exclusive VIP section.” Particularly striking is the colour of the tent – it’s pink. “We deliberately chose this colour. It’s intended to attract as much attention as possible for us”, says André Meier, with a twinkle in his eye. This they will do not only with the eye-catching tent but also with the vivacious Schlager Parade that will march through the whole village on Saturday. “The great thing is that anyone can join. The Schlager Parade in Chur has been a huge success for years.”

The festival grounds for Schlager Days at the valley station of the Gemsstock lift in Andermatt are about as big as a football field, because in front of the tent is an open area holding a variety of attractions and all the food stands. “This area is open to everybody – but to get into the tent you need a ticket.” And these are still available. Tickets for days that are not sold out will also be available on site at the entrance. “So far, we are quite satisfied with the advance ticket sales – especially since everything has happened at very short notice. For next year we will have more time. And preparations have already begun – even now we can celebrate our first big accomplishment: DJ Ötzi has already signed his contract for Schlager Days 2016.”
