Andermatt Swiss Alps

The new place to be in the resort

It comes in a modern look, with a dark-stained wooden shingle façade and a natural stone base – the newest apartment building Schneefalke. It looks different from the other apartment buildings in the Andermatt Swiss Alps tourist resort. And it also offers something different. In addition to the 19 apartments, it will also house a fitness-and-sauna area as well as a gastronomic establishment.

“For the interior of the gastronomy space – a bar & lounge about 100 m2 in size – we will use the dark modern alpine style of the exterior shell”, explains Antje Schumann, Senior Project Manager at Andermatt Swiss Alps AG. In addition to the wooden plank wall panelling in the entrance area, the perimeter walls in exposed concrete with ornamentation, the black expanded-metal ceiling, and the exposed technical installations painted black give the space a trendy industrial character. “With RGB controllers, the modern backlit glass rear wall of the bar and the indirect backlighting in the lounge area can be adjusted to create different lighting moods in the room to match different occasions, ensuring a comfortable ambience.” The seating is in lounge style, with armchairs, stools, couches and small side tables.
The bar seats around 25 to 30 people and is the perfect après-ski location in the winter. In the summer, the spacious flagstone terrace outside can also be used, doubling the size. With weatherproof outdoor furniture, this is especially inviting for guests or owners to enjoy an aperitif during the summer months. “Apartment house Schneefalke will be finished as core-and-shell by spring 2017. Theoretically, the bar could also be put into operation at that time. But that would depend on the future operator.” First talks with interested parties are taking place right now.
